NARS Sheer Matte Foundation

NARS Sheer Matte Foundation in Siberia.

What it says on the website:
An oil-free, soft matte-finish foundation with sheer, buildable coverage that controls oil and shine throughout the day. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, skin is more luminous, softer and smoother.

Used daily, Sheer Matte Foundation improves skin brightness, radiance and texture. For normal to oily skin types.

  • Minimizes visible discoloration
  • Brightens and clarifies overall skin tone
  • Oil free. Absorbs oil and controls shine
  • Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. Fragrance Free
Although I don't have oily skin... I do use a lot of  moisturiser before applying my foundation and I like a matte finish without having to use any powder.

I've never found a foundation quite pale enough for my skin, (especially in the winter months when I don't even have freckles) until now. NARS Siberia, where have you been all my life?!! To think, I'd never even tried a NARS product before, I'm most definitely a convert. I still love my MAC foundation, but I'll probably just use that now in the summer months when I've a little more warmth to my skin. Hopefully you can see from the below swatch just how good the NARS is on my skin, I've not blended the foundations in properly here so that it would show up better on camera :) ... I think it's the shadow on the right hand side of this pic making it look a tad darker than it is... and the fact its less thick than the MAC foundation...

The only down side is that the coverage isn't quite as good as my MAC studio sculpt, but that's to be expected as the consistency is completely different. The NARS foundation is much more of a liquid compared to the creamy/mousse texture of my MAC foundation. Despite this, I'd still rate my new NARS foundation as a 5/5, I've got plenty of concealers if I need to cover any blemishes!

What's your favourite foundation?

  2. I love anything Nars, especially their blush. My current fav foundation is Tarte ReCreate foundation. It gives awesome coverage and has anti-aging benefits.

I am a sun-protection nut, so I'm using the Invisible Zinc stick foundation at the momentduring the day, but my mum has a great clinique one that I use at night.

  5. I'm just using good old maybelline dream liquid mousse which works well for me, although I have been meaning to try the NARS foundations. I might swatch them at the shops then buy it from online considering they're so dear in my country.

  10. I've heard so many good things about the NARS foundations - cant believe I havent got round to picking one up! My skin is similar to yours in that its pretty much milk white during winter so it can be really hard to get a suitable shade. Judging by your swatch this one looks like it matches your skin tone perfectly!

Its not exactly cheap but I guess it's always worth splashing out if you're getting something you'll actually use all the time! :)

I dont have one favourite foundation - I'm constantly trying and reviewing new ones cos I'm easily swayed by nice ads and packaging so always end up trying something new! ♥

  12. @Adrienne I've tried dainty doll cosmetics and I didn't really like them too much (apart from the packaging)... though I've heard other people say they love them so it's just my personal preference I guess

    @Marisa Noelle I think I need to buy a NARS blush :)

@liza ooo may have to give that one a try when I next go on holiday thanks

@Lizelisabeth haha yes, what great names we have :P

@Makeup and Macaroons I know what u mean, it's about £30 here, but foundation is one of the make-up products that I don't mind spending abit extra on as it if it isn't quite wrong the whole look goes a bit squiffy!
